Bavarian Salzburg Alpine Trail
“From the Lake Königssee to the alpine meadow of mount Hochkönig”
The blue-green shimmer of Lake Königssee offers reflections of the surrounding mountains. To see the sun rising over the steep rocks of the Stony Sea is worth the effort of getting up early. Alpine pastures nestle on the edges of the mountains as you walk from mountain hut to mountain hut with spectacular views to the Alps and glaciers. Berchtesgaden has an informative Visitor’s Center where you’ll find historical information about Hitler’s Eagles Nest and the surrounding area.
Tour Details: If you can comfortably walk 3-6 hours a day, then this tour is for you. You‘ll be crossing several valleys on the former salt trail or walking over paths through beautiful alpine pastures.
